The race is run entirely on the sandy beach stretching from Borth down to the dunes at Ynyslas before returning to the start. Timed to begin at low tide the challenge is to complete the race and keep your feet dry – although on a hot summer’s day many runners take the opportunity for a quick dip at the end.

The 1 mile Junior race (minimum age 7) starts a few minutes after the main adult 10k, heading out to the half mile marker point before returning to the staring point.

Notes from the Race Organiser
To help ensure you have a safe and enjoyable race please read this document carefully.
Race HQ and Registration – Registration will be open from 2:00pm – 4:15pm at Borth Community Hall, SY24 5LH
Car Parking – there are a several car parks located close to the Race HQ – see picture below. Please do not park opposite It’s a Gift car park.
Getting to the Start The start is on the beach directly opposite Its’ a Gift. Access to the beach is via the ramp alongside the RNLI Station.
Race Numbers – Your number must be fixed to the front of your vest so that it is clearly visible to marshals. Your number must not be folded or mutilated in any way. Pins will also be available from Race Registration.
Race Route – The course is entirely on the beach at low tide (on predominantly hard-packed sand) and goes directly north past the village towards Ynyslas. The halfway point at 5km is marshalled and all runners turn here and head south back to the start. Marshals will be at the start/finish, 800m (turning point for the junior mile) 3k, 5k, 7k points as well as at the water station approx. 4/6k point. There will also be a back runner.

Race Etiquette
The Borth Beach 10k starts just before the Junior Mile. Senior runners should take care during the first 800m of the course.
If you see any fellow runners in difficulties you should check to see if they need assistance and alert the marshals.
Don’t be afraid to smile and say thanks to supporters and marshals as you go along.

There will be drinks available on the route (4/6k point) and at the finish.
First Aid
First Aiders will be in attendance at the Race HQ and on the course they will be in touch with marshals at various points around the course. If you feel unwell or need to get assistance for a fellow runner please see one of the team.
Bag Storage
There are no bag storage facilities.
Public toilets are available adjacent to the RNLI Station

Prizes and Awards
We aim to get results out as quickly as we can. The presentations of awards will take place in the Community Hall as soon after the races have finished.
